ABOUT US
Our Team
Master Rick Jones, is a 7th Degree Black Belt, and Certified Master
Instructor. He has 40 years practicing and teaching the art of Tang Soo Do
Karate. Master Jones is the founder and former Master Instructor of North
County Martial Arts, and the Co-Founder of Ancient Ways Karate.
Master Karl Courage is a 5th Degree Black Belt, and Certified Master
Instructor. He has 27 years practicing and teaching Tang Soo Do Karate in
the North County area and is Co-founder of Ancient Ways Karate.
Mr Chris Colwell, Head Instructor Redondo Beach, began his martial
arts training under Master Rick Jones at North County Martial Arts where
he achieved the rank of Black Belt and quickly became their lead instructor
because of his enthusiasm and outstanding teaching skills. He later worked
at California Karate before taking on the role of head instructor / Studio
Director at our Redondo Beach location.
